Information on the Frame System

Our Frame System has been developed to hold from 2 up to 5 of any of the current six-bay units (CMT6/CMT-6SPC and CPN-6/CPN-6SPC)

There will be one small frame for 2 or 3 six-bay units and a large frame that can hold 4 or 5 six-bay units.

By doing this we’re creating additional options, making it possible to order a 12, 18, 24 or 30 bay unit

Model options based on the small frame:

12 bay = 2 of the current CMT-6(SPC) or CPN-6(SPC)

18 bay = 3 of the current CMT-6(SPC) or CPN-6(SPC) 

Model options based on the large frame:

24 bay = 4 of the current CMT-6(SPC) or CPN-6(SPC)

30 bay = 5 of the current CMT-6(SPC) or CPN-6(SPC) 

Each six-bay unit will have it’s own power adapter (with EU, UK and US adapter as currently supplied with the six-bay units).

This also means that you will need as many power outlets as you have six-bay units mounted on the frames. 

Frame System advantages

1) Easy scalable: One can start with 2 or 4 six-bay units and later add 1 six-bay (with just 2 screws).

2) Better serviceable: When experiencing issues with one bay one only has to detach the six-bay unit with problems (2 screws) and send it in for inspection. Normal operation continues on the remaining docks.

3) Communication options: Because the unit consist of six-bay docks the communication port on each dock is available (see *1, *2).

*1 Currently the CPN series can ONLY be used for charging and USB-HID communication. By design USB-HID emulates keyboard input and should be manually limited to one scanner transmitting data at a time. New functionality like USB (VCP) communication will only become available if Opticon releases new firmware that supports this.

*2 As the limitation of supported communication ports is determined by each individual PC and Operating System we can not warrant the amount of ports that will have successful communication.
